Pakistan are the big favourites to seal a first test series victory against West Indies. The first match begins at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday, January 17.

Pakistan will look to bounce back from a 2-0 series defeat in South Africa late in 2024. They did win their most recent home test series, coming back from one match down to defeat England 2-1.

Saud Shakeel is expected to be a key player for the hosts following some excellent test form. The middle-order batsman has scored 560 runs and he scored 121 runs against South Africa.

West Indies head to Pakistan without a test series victory in their last six outings. They have drawn two and lost four series during this run.

The Windies have not won an away test series since defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in February 2021. They will also be without key pace attack bowlers Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph.

The visitors also have a poor recent record in Pakistan and have not won a test match here since 1990. Pakistan have also won two of the last three tests between these nations.
